Checking Wire And Replacement Of Component
Check the wire between the control unit 1A and reverse light contact 2 (3/10) for a short-circuit to voltage supply as described in, see SHORT-CIRCUIT TO SUPPLY VOLTAGE. PERMANENT FAULTS , and for an open circuit as described in OPEN-CIRCUIT, PERMANENT FAULTS .
Also check the connectors for a short circuit to voltage supply, as described in, see SHORT-CIRCUIT TO SUPPLY VOLTAGE. PERMANENT FAULTS , and for an open circuit as described in OPEN-CIRCUIT, PERMANENT FAULTS .
If no fault is found on the wire, check the function of the reversing lamp switch.
HINT: If reverse light contact is closed, the voltage between 1 and 2 on the contact is 0 V.
Do the necessary corrective action.
