Checking Status
- Ignition on.
Activate reading off of the stop lamp switch signal.
Activate or deactivate the stop lamp.
Check if the fault is permanent or intermittent.
The signal must change when the stop lamp switch is actuated (the brake pedal).
The fault is permanent if the signal does not change when activated or deactivated.
If the signal changes when actuated, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but that it is not active at the moment, i. e. the fault is intermittent.
