Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information CEM-6F87

Condition 

The central electronic module (CEM) controls the power supply to the lock motor for the fuel tank filler cap via a directly connected cable. The control module activates the engine if the switch for opening the fuel tank filler cap on the light switch unit is pressed. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the switch for opening the fuel tank filler cap has been activated an implausibly long time (two minutes).

Possible Source 

• The switch for opening the fuel tank filler cap is stuck in the activated position (defective switch)
• The switch for opening the fuel tank filler cap has been activated for more than two minutes.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The fuel tank filler cap cannot be opened using the switch by the light switch.
