Checking Component And Wiring

Instrument lighting 

Check the voltage on the light switch module (LSM) connector terminal #12 to the output on the central electronic module (CEM). The voltage must be approximately 12 V when the instrument lighting is activated.

Check the control signal cable. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Take readings between:

• Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #H1 (#24) and light switch module (LSM) connector terminal #12.

Remedy as necessary.

Fuel tank filler cap 

Check the voltage on the fuel tank filler cap connector terminal #2 to the output on the central electronic module (CEM). The voltage must be approximately 12 V when fuel tank filler cap unlocking is activated.

Check the control signal cable. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Take readings between:

• Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #C2 (#2) and fuel tank filler cap connector terminal #2.

Remedy as necessary.
