Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information CEM-6F83

Condition 

The central electronic module (CEM) checks the luminance of the instrument lighting via an output. The control module also checks the fuel tank filler cap via an output. These two outputs share the same diagnostic signal.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers a short-circuit to battery voltage in the instrument lighting / fuel tank filler cap circuit or an open-circuit.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed at key positions I and II.

Substitute Value 

• The instrument lighting is lit at full strength.

Possible Source 

• Short-circuit to battery voltage in the signal cable to the instrument lighting / fuel tank filler cap
• Open-circuit in the signal cable for the instrument lighting / fuel tank filler cap.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The instrument lighting is constantly lit at full strength
• The instrument lighting does not operate
• Does not lock / unlock the fuel tank filler cap.
