Test Driving

WARNING:

Ensure that the vehicle is safely raised. Check that no objects are caught in the tire treads.

CAUTION:

The test must be carried out on a raised vehicle so that all four wheels are free to turn, with attachment a long way out on the link arms, so as not to damage the drive shafts.

NOTE:

If the vehicle has STC or DSTC, the function must be deactivated.

HINT: Read the oil pressure sensor signal using parameter readout, graphical display.

Ignition off.
Raise the vehicle so that all the wheels hang free.
The parking brake must not be engaged.
Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle.
Engage second gear.

At least one wheel per axle should rotate.

Read the oil pressure sensor signal. Oil pressure should be between 0.5 and 1.0 MPa.

Depress the clutch pedal.
Engage the parking brake.
Engage second gear.
Begin the oil pressure readout.
Release the clutch.

The engine should now stop.

Read the oil pressure sensor signal. Oil pressure should briefly rise to between 1.5 and 3.5 MPa.
