Positioning the templates

Cut out the templates
Position the templates in the lower corners of the tailgate, flush to the tailgate edges
Tape the templates in position.

Position the chrome profile (from the kit) against the lower edge of the tailgate. Check that the four mounting lugs for the chrome profile (two mounting lugs as shown) are positioned opposite the marked holes in the two templates.

If the holes do not correspond adjust the position of the templates to the position of the chrome profile mounting lugs.

Then check that the templates do not slide sideways causing the chrome profile to be positioned too far to the left or right.
