Removing the whiplash element

NOTE: Make a note of the routing of the SRS ignition cable and the location of the cable clips. Remove the cable clips. Move the SRS ignition cable to one side.

Remove the spring.

Remove:

the indicator pin or its remains (only applies to cars up to chassis number -642122 )
one nut on each side
one spindle from each side.

Pull the bracket apart as shown.

Remove the segment.

NOTE: Mark the position of the bracket.
