Removing seats and upholstery

Remove the seat, the lumber support and the backrest adjustment knobs and the upholstery for the backrest. See Components backrest, replacing  (-2002) or Components backrest, replacing  (2003-).

HINT: Only lift the backrest upholstery enough to expose the whiplash element. 

Screw the backrest adjustment to the maximum reclining position.

NOTE: Power seats: Use an external 12 V power source.

Release the adjustment mechanism. Fold the backrest forward.
