Checking the wiring

Ignition off.
Check the connector on the leak diagnostic pump. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .

Check the signal cable between engine control module (ECM) terminal #41 and leak diagnostic pump terminal #4. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .

Remedy as necessary.

Try a new leak diagnostic pump if no fault is found during the above fault-tracing.
