Checking wiring and connectors

Ignition off.
Check the connector on the leak diagnostic pump. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .

Check the signal cable between engine control module (ECM) terminal #41 and leak diagnostic pump terminal #4. Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .

Check the power supply cable between system relay terminal #5 (87) and leak diagnostic pump terminal #2. Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .

Remedy as necessary.

Try a new leak diagnostic pump if no fault is found during the above fault-tracing.
