Installing the thermostat

Clean the mating surfaces on the thermostat housing.
Install a new gasket on the thermostat.
Install the thermostat in the housing. Install the cover. Tighten the cover. Tighten to 17 Nm .
Install the upper timing cover.
Install the cover over the fuel rail.
Turbocharged engines: install the throttle body cover.
Fill with coolant, see Filling with coolant .
