Checking wiring and connectors
- Ignition off
Check the connector for the affected injector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .
Check the resistance of the affected injector between terminals #1 and #2. The resistance must be approximately 12 Ω.
Check the signal cable between the affected injector terminal #2 and engine control module (ECM) terminal #59 (ECM-1E), terminal #90 (ECM-1F), terminal #60 (ECM-20) or terminal #89 (ECM-21). Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Check the power supply cable between system relay terminal #5 (87) and affected injector terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
HINT: The voltage must be approximately 12 V between injector terminals #1 and #2 (control module side) for approximately 2 seconds after the ignition is switched on.
Remedy as necessary.
