Replacing the vacuum pump: Removal: Preparations

Make a note of the anti-theft radio code.

Ignition off. Disconnect the battery negative lead

NOTE: When removing the battery lead, see Note When Disconnecting And Connecting the Battery Lead

Remove the mounting screws for the relay box in the engine compartment. Place it to one side.

Remove the intake hose by the air cleaner cover and the switch by the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Remove the air cleaner cover.
