Removing ABS Hydraulic Module

NOTE: For service, the hydraulic module is delivered together with a control module. The secondary circuit of the hydraulic module is provided with brake fluid and is internal bled, so that the brake system can be bleed conventionally after assembly.

Switch off ignition.

Open the hood.

Cars with turbo engine: 

Cars with air-conditioning:

Remove the coolant hose out of the clips.

Remove the windshield washer fluid hoses out of the clips.

Remove both brake pipe brackets on the inside of the front wing.

Place cloth under the hydraulic unit to absorb spilled brake fluid in order to protect the paintwork.

Loosen and remove the brake pipes from the hydraulic unit and collect spilled brake fluid.

Plug the brake pipes.

Carefully move the brake pipes so that the ABS unit can be removed.

Disconnect the connector.

Remove the two nuts from the support and remove the unit from the support.

Remove the two bolts and remove the support.

NOTE: Avoid bending the AC pipe on its connections.

Remove the ABS unit.

Remove the studs from the hydraulic module.
