Removing the seal

Tie the drive shaft to the spring strut. Use a tie strap

Protect the axle end from contaminants. Use a plastic bag.

Temporarily secure the stub axle to the spring strut with either a strong tie strap or with one of the screws for the spring strut.

Remove the seal. Use a jimmy bar. Do not damage any surfaces.

Check that no residue from the old seal is left in the transmission.
