Front Wheel Hub

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel to be measured.
  2. Remove mounting screws for brake caliper holder. Hang caliper from spring using a wire.
  3. Remove brake disc.
  4. Install bracket included in Measurement Tool Set (999 5418). See Fig 1.
  5. Install dial indicator in the bracket. See Fig 1.
  6. Place dial indicator point against hub flange. See Fig 2.
  7. Rotate hub and note dial indicator run-out. If lateral run-out exceeds specifications, replace hub. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten brake disc locating pin and brake caliper holder to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
