Drive Shaft Seal & Pilot Bearing - Removal & Installation

  • Replacing the right drive shaft pilot bearing

    • Disassembly
      • Notes
      • Secure the drive shaft. Remove the boot
      • Clean and mark up the constant velocity joint
      • Separate the shaft and pull out the inner joint
    • Replacing the pilot bearing
      • Press out the pilot bearing from the drive shaft
      • Install the new bearing on the shaft
    • Replacing the boot
      • Notes
      • Knock of the joint's inner track
      • Modifying the drift
      • Remove the old boot from the shaft. Install a new one
      • Checking and inspection
    • Reassembly
      • Assemble the inner joint
      • Install the inner section of the shaft
      • Apply grease in the boot
      • Press the boot onto the constant velocity joint
      • Check that the boot is in position on the drive shaft
