Checking Components

Check that the headlamp washer fuse is intact.

Check that the washer reservoir level is above 1 liter.

For information about fuse numbers and the number on the terminal pins, see the appropriate service information.

HINT: "Reading off parameters, digital display" under vehicle communication can be used to check that the windshield washer reservoir level is above one liter. 

Checking the relay 

Check that the headlamp washer relay is correctly installed.

Also check the relay terminal, in particular terminal #5. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Check the function of the headlamp washer relay. Activate and deactivate the relay a number of times. The relay is functioning if there is a clicking sound when the relay is activated and deactivated.

Click the VCT2000 symbol in VIDA (Volvo scan tool) to activate and deactivate the relay.
