Checking the sun roof

If the noise is sporadic (clicking), check the mechanism, rails and drive for unevenness.

HINT: Adjusting the glass panel may remedy the problem.

If there are squeaks coming from the front of the sun roof, check the motor and drive.

Clean and lubricate the rails and mechanism.

If there is rattling from the sun roof, check that all components are properly mounted and check that all bolts and screws are securely tightened.

Replace any damaged components. Use new bolts when mounting.

If there is rattling, but no loose or damaged components are found, try replacing the mechanism.

An improperly adjusted sun roof can cause wind noise. If this is the case, adjust the sun roof vertically as well as the front and rear position.

Check that the sun roof seal is undamaged. If the seal is damaged, replace the sun roof.

Laterally adjust the entire sun roof cassette in the body.
