Fault-Tracing Information
The headlamp washer motors are supplied with power via a relay positioned in the integrated relay/fusebox in the engine compartment.
Reasons for the headlamp washers not working can include:
- Burnt out fuse
- Damaged relay
- The washer reservoir level is too low
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- Defective washer motor.
- Headlamps off (Only applies to vehicles with Halogen lamps).
- Low voltage in the battery and engine not running (Only applies to vehicles with Bi-Xenon lamps).
NOTE:
The headlamp washer is only activated every 5th time that the stalk for windshield washing/headlamp washing is activated. The counter for this activation is reset after 10 minutes.
For information about fuse numbers and the number on the terminal pins, see the appropriate service information.
