Removing The Hood Catch Cable

Disconnect the mechanical cable. See HOOD CATCH, REPLACING .

Remove: 

• the sill trim panel. See SILL TRIM PANEL, REPLACING
• the hood catch mechanism
• the panel for the hood catch mechanism.

Unhook the cable from the hood catch mechanism.

HINT: Before pulling out the cable sleeve, mark the sleeve using tape or a marker pen. Then install the new cable sleeve following the old one, so that the marking is in the correct place. 

Pull the cable sleeve out of the engine compartment. Leave the plastic pipe in position.
