Condition

The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers a communication fault.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II and III.

Substitute Value 

• Passenger airbag is deactivated.

Possible Source 

• Open-circuit in the signal cable or in the connectors between the occupant weight sensor (OWS) and supplemental restraint system module (SRS)
• Damaged occupant weight sensor (OWS).

Fault symptom[s] 

• SRS indicator lamp lit
• PAD lamp lit.
