Checking The Component
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the connector from the front left front impact sensor.
Check the female and male parts of the connectors for the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the front impact sensor. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) terminal #19B (47), #18B(46) and connector terminals #2 and #1 on the front left front impact sensor. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the resistance in the signal cable between terminals #19B (47) and #18B (46) for the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS). The resistance must be infinite.
If no fault is found, replace the front collision sensor.
Remedy as necessary.
