Checking Remote Control, Poor Contact With Battery
This symptom troubleshooting only applies to vehicles that show any or some of the following symptoms:
- Alarm/Arming does not work/No visible indication
- Locking/unlocking/Other central locking problems
- Locking/unlocking/Central locking does not work
Problems with the remote control's function may be due to poor contact between the battery and the connecting pins in the remote control.
To solve problems with poor contact:
- Open the remote control's battery cover and remove the battery.
- Carefully bend the connecting pin upward (approx. 0.5 - 1 mm) for the battery's plus terminal.
- Carefully bend the connecting pins upward (approx. 1 - 2 mm) for the battery's minus terminal.
- Reinstall the battery in the remote control.
- Hold the remote control upside-down and shake it carefully.
- If the battery works loose, bend the connecting pins upward a little more for the battery's plus terminal.
- If the battery is still in the remote control, reinstall the battery cover.
- Verify the remote control's function.
