Removing The Turbocharger (TC)

Remove the charge air hose

Disconnect the inlet hose from turbocharger (TC).

Remove 

• the hose from the boost pressure control valve.
• the hose from the EGR valve.
• the pressure oil pipe between the turbocharger (TC) and the oil filter bracket.

Applies only to right-hand drive cars: 

Remove the screw for the rear mounting on the charge air pipe under the engine. Slightly slacken off the front mounting on the charge air pipe under the engine.

Fold the charge air pipe out of the way.

Remove the EGR valve and pipe.

Remove 

• the screws for the exhaust manifold.
• the manifold and the turbocharger (TC).

HINT: Use a 1/4" socket and ratchet for nuts which are difficult to access.

Install the manifold and turbocharger (TC) in a vise.

Remove 

• the heat deflector.
• the lower oil pipe.
• the turbocharger (TC) from the exhaust manifold.

HINT: Use a bi-hexagon wrench on the screw (1) securing the turbocharger (TC).

Replace the 3 old studs if necessary.
