Checking The Wire And Handbrake Contact

Check function of handbrake switch. Measure the voltage between 1 and ground.

HINT: When handbrake is on, pin 1 should be grounded. 

Check and measure the wire between combined instrument 6 and handbrake contact 1 for an open circuit as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults , and for a short circuit to voltage supply as described in Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .
