Removal & Installation
NOTE:
Wheel bearing and wheel hub are one unit. Wheel bearing can not be replaced separately.
- Remove hub cap, wheel lug nuts, and wheel. Remove brake hose clamp. Remove brake hose out of support. Remove brake caliper and support. Wire brake caliper aside. Remove brake disc bolt. See Fig 1. Remove brake disc.
- Remove wheel hub protective cap. See Fig 2. Remove wheel hub nut. Remove wheel hub. Remove pulse wheel bolts.
- To install, clean hub and fit new pulse wheel. Install NEW nut and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Clean and install brake disc. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install brake caliper and support. Tighten brake caliper bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install brake hose in support. Install retaining clip. Install wheel and lug nuts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install hub cap.
- Ensure ABS is working properly. Read fault codes. Test drive vehicle and ensure ABS warning light goes out. Check for any fault codes that might be generated.
CAUTION:
Correct torque and crosswise tightening of wheel lug nuts are essential to avoid stresses in brake disc.
NOTE:
If impact wrench is used on wheel lug nuts, torque socket (951 2834) must be used.
