Condition

The driving section of the transmission is disengaged when certain conditions are met:

Stationary
Engine idling
Stop pedal depressed
Gear position D, 3 or 4.

The function decreases fuel consumption and vibration from the transmission when running the engine at idle speed.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-012C is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the engine is juddering or running unevenly when engaging clutch C1.

Substitute Value

The transmission control module (TCM) "Emergency mode I" program has been initiated.

Possible Source

Solenoid SLS jammed in the ON position
Internal fault in the transmission
Internal fault in the control module.

Fault symptom[s]

General orange warning lamp lit
The engine speed (RPM) oscillates
No lock-up function
Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
