Checking the wiring and component

Check the cable between the gear selector module (GSM) and the shift lock solenoid. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

If no fault is found in the wiring, connect an ohmmeter to solenoid connector terminals #1 and #2 (solenoid side).

Resistance should be 35-45 ΩReplace the solenoid if the resistance is incorrect. If the resistance is OK, replace the circuit board in the top panel.
