Checking the wiring and component

Check the cable between the gear selector module (GSM) and the shift lock solenoid connector (control module side). Check for an open-circuit. See Open-circuit, permanent faults .

HINT: With a voltmeter connected to solenoid connector terminals #1 and #2 (gear selector control module side), the voltage should be 0 V when the brake pedal is not depressed and approximately Ubat when it is depressed. Replace the solenoid if the voltage is OK. 

Remedy as necessary.
