Checking the wiring and component
Check the cable between the control module for the gear selector and the solenoid connector. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .
Check the voltage between terminals #1 and #2 on the solenoid connector (female half).
When the ignition is on and the brake pedal is not depressed the voltage should be 0 V. When the brake pedal is depressed the voltage should be Ubat.
Replace the solenoid if the voltage is OK.
