Checking shift solenoids

• Start the engine.
• Gear selector in position P.
• Read off the current through the line pressure solenoid STH.
• Depress the accelerator pedal (AP) slowly.

  The current should decrease as the accelerator pedal (AP) is depressed.

  If current does not decrease, it indicates that there is an internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).

Does the current decrease? 

• YES 

  FAULT NOT FOUND:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Transmission control module (TCM) replacement and programming
