Checking the function of the transmission

• Start the engine
• Ensure that the car is fully braked
• Move the gear selector to position D
• Press the "Winter" mode button.

  HINT: The "Winter" mode activates second gear. 

  Check that the engine speed (RPM) drops considerably when "Winter" mode is engaged.

  HINT: If the engine speed (RPM) drops considerably, the lock-up function is engaged. 

Did the engine speed (RPM) drop dramatically? 

• YES

• NO 

  Refer to Checking diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
