Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition 

The control module checks if lock-up solenoid SL is stuck in the open or closed position by comparing the signals from solenoid SL and lock-up pressure sensor PS4. Pressure sensor PS4 detects whether solenoid SL is activated or not. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0050 is stored if the control module registers that solenoid SL has jammed in the open position.

Substitute Value 

• The control module does not activate the lock-up solenoid.

Possible Source 

• Lock-up solenoid SL has stuck in the open position
• Mechanical fault in the transmission control system
• Defective solenoid SL.

Fault symptom[s] 

• General orange warning lamp lit
• No lock-up function.
