Checking the wiring

Check the wiring between the transmission connector (control module side):

• terminal #B5 and control module terminal #A46 (#A46) "A"
• terminal #B6 and control module terminal #B4 (#A64) "B"
• terminal #B7 and control module terminal #A45 (#A45) "C"
• terminal #B8 and control module terminal #B3 (#A63) "PA".

check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults . Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults . Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .

Was a fault detected? Select an option according to the following:

1. No fault detected

   Refer to Replacing the gear-shift position sensor 

2. Open-circuit in the wiring or a short-circuit to ground

   Refer to Verification 

3. Short-circuit to supply voltage in the wiring.

   Refer to Checking the gear-shift position sensor
