Checking the lock-up function
- Engine running
- Raise the car so that the wheels can rotate freely
- Move the gear selector to position D
- Rev the engine to 2000 RPM
- Activate the solenoid for gear 2 and then the lock-up function
- Read off the input transmission speed and the engine speed.
Press the accelerator pedal (AP). Check the lock-up function by comparing the input speed of the transmission and the engine speed (RPM). The speeds should follow each other and be approximately the same. If the difference in speed is greater than 100 RPM the lock-up function is not functioning.
