Intermittent fault
Check the control module and vehicle speed sensor (VSS) connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .
Check the wiring between control module terminal #59 (#A59) and transmission connector terminal #S (#A16). Check for an intermittent open-circuit. See Open-circuit, intermittent faults . Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground. See Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults . Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage. See Short-circuit to supply voltage, intermittent faults . Also check the wiring between control module terminal #41 (#A41) and transmission connector terminal #V (#A17).
Remedy as necessary.
