Checking engine braking
HINT: Test drive the car to determine whether the fault is in the transmission or in the transmission control system. Test drive as follows:
- Start the engine and move the gear selector to position 1 (Geartronic 1)
- Accelerate up to 4500-6000 RPM and release the accelerator pedal (AP).
If there is no engine breaking, there is an internal fault in the transmission. Replace the transmission.
If there is engine breaking, there is an internal fault in the transmission control system. Replace the control system
