Intermittent fault
Check the control module and transmission connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation . Check the cable between control module terminal #A50 (#A50)and transmission connector terminal #C1. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults .
- Check the circuit for solenoid S1: Switch off the ignition. Disconnect the control module. Measure the resistance between terminals #A50 (#A50) and #A53 (#A53) on the breakout box. The resistance must be 12-16 Ω.
Remedy as necessary.
