Tightening The Ball Joint

For vehicles with aluminum control arms: 

• Install a new nut on the ball joint. Tighten. See: Tightening torque . Use a Torx wrench as a counterhold.
  NOTE:

  Make sure that the mating surfaces on the ball joint and control arm are clean.

For vehicles with steel control arms: 

• See 9995467
• Use socket as adapter for the torque wrench or a ring wrench adapter that is designed for the torque wrench.

• Install a new nut. Tighten in accordance with: Tightening torque
• Rust protect the thread outside the nut.
