Disconnecting Ball Joint

For vehicles with aluminum control arms: 

• Remove the nut on the ball joint. Use a Torx wrench as a counterhold.

For vehicles with steel control arms: 

• Remove the nut from the ball joint.

Install the nut on the ball joint with a clearance to the control arm of 1.5 mm.

Align the puller with the control arm and nut.

Tighten the puller so that the ball joint releases from the control arm.
