Identification of power steering pump

To identify which power steering pump the vehicle is equipped with, see below when there are power steering pumps with two different pressure levels.

Power steering pumps with max pressure 10-11 MPa, designated as pump A in the procedure.

Power steering pumps with max pressure 11-12 MPa, designated as pump B in the procedure.

Pump A: 

• S60, S80, V70, XC70 with gasoline and diesel engines up to and including 2003 week 09
• S60, V70, XC70 with gasoline and diesel engines from and including 2003 week 10 (does not apply to B5244T4, B5244T5, B5254T2)
• S80 with the following engines: B5244S, S2, SG, SG2 and B5204T from and including 2003 week 10.

Pump B: 

• S60 R and V70 R
• S80 with diesel engines from and including 2003 week 10
• V70, XC70, S60, S80 with the following engines from and including week 10 2003: B5244T4, B5244T5, B5254T2.
