Checking components

Activate the windshield washer using the windshield wiper switch. Read off the status.

HINT: If the read-out of the status of the wiper switch gave a correct result, the problem is not in the Steering wheel module (SWM).

Was the status of the wiper switch OK? 

• YES 

  FAULT NOT FOUND:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Replacing a component 

Activate the washer using the windshield wiper switch. Read off the status.

HINT: If the windshield wiper switch status is OK, the fault is in the windshield wiper switch.

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO
