Condition

The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module receives a message indicating that the voltage is too low in the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II and III.

Substitute Value 

• Passenger airbag is deactivated.

Possible Source 

• Damaged occupant weight sensor (OWS).
• Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable or in the connectors between the components in the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

Fault symptom[s] 

• SRS indicator lamp lit
• PAD lamp lit.
