Condition

The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module receives a message indicating that there is no signal in the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II and III.

Substitute Value 

• Passenger airbag is deactivated.

Possible Source 

• Open circuit in signal line or in connectors between BTS and the occupant weight sensor (OWS).
• Damaged belt tension sensor.

Fault symptom[s] 

• SRS indicator lamp lit
• PAD lamp lit.
