The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the LIN signal from the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:

The voltage from the Occupant weight sensor (OWS) is too low or is missing.

The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:

Ignition position I, II and III.

Open-circuit in the signal cable (LIN-bus) or in the connectors between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the occupant weight sensor (OWS).
Damaged occupant weight sensor (OWS).
