Intermittent fault
- Ignition off.CAUTION:
Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the SRS control module.
Check the connectors for the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and side impact sensor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. See Contact resistance and oxidation . Check for loose connections. See Loose connections (terminals) .
Check the cable between the SRS control module and the terminal on the side impact sensor connector according to the following:
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00B0,
front left side impact sensor terminals #8A (8) and #9A (9) and connector terminals #1 and #2.
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00B5,
front right side impact sensor terminals #8C (4) and #9C (5) and connector terminals #1 and #2.
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00BA,
rear left side impact sensor terminals #27A (27) and #28A (28) and connector terminals #1 and #2.
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00BF,
rear right side impact sensor terminals #27C (23) and #28C (24) and connector terminals #1 and #2.
check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage. See Short-circuit to supply voltage, intermittent faults . Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground. See Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults .
Remedy as necessary.
