Intermittent fault
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector from the seat belt tensioner.WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner. This could deploy the seat belt tensioner
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the SRS control module.
Check the connector for the SRS module and the connector for the seat belt tensioner for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation and loose connections according to Loose connections (terminals) .
Check the cable between the SRS and the terminal of the seat belt tensioner connector according to the following:
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-0062,
front left seat belt tensioner #5A (5), #6A (6) and connector #1, #3.
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-006A,
front right seat belt tensioner #5C (1), #6C (2) and connector #1, #3.
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-0072,
rear left seat belt tensioner #16A (16), #15A (15) and connector #1, #3.
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-007A,
center rear seat belt tensioner #17A (17), #18A (18) and connector #1, #3.
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-0082,
rear right seat belt tensioner #16C (12), #15C (11) and connector #1, #3.
for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults .
Remedy as necessary.

- With the ignition off and the connector for the seat belt tensioner and for the SRS control module disconnected, the resistance between the seat belt tensioner connector #1, #3 (SRS control module side) and the removed battery positive pole should read infinity.

- With the ignition off and special tool 9511506 connected, resistance between the different terminals for each diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (see above) on the SRS control module connector (seat belt tensioner side) should read infinity.
