Intermittent fault
- Ignition off.WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed pyrotechnical airbag. This could deploy the airbag
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the SRS control module.
Check connectors for:
- 2-pin
- SRS control module
for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation and loose connections according to Loose connections (terminals) .
Check the female and male parts of the connector for the SRS control module and the 2-pin connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the cable between the control module for the SRS #4C(60) and connector #1 on the right-hand side impact protection (SIPS) bag for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-circuit, intermittent faults .
Check the cable between the SRS control unit #3C (59) and the 2-pin connector #2 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-circuit, intermittent faults .
Remedy as necessary.

- With the ignition off and the 2-pin connector disconnected, the resistance between the 2-pin connector #1 and #2 (SRS control module side) should be approximately 22 kΩ.
